Born on 18 April 1946, in the small provincial town of Whangarei in New Zealand, the author was predominantly influenced in the childhood and formative years by the cultural beliefs and practices of an extended, mainly Maori, family group. Those particular beliefs, riven through with psychicism and superstition, inculcated a sense of fear during his childhood years, even around completely natural events.
The one European influence, his father, did counter-balance the more extreme Maori beliefs at that time. Those experiences, however, were to prove a valuable catalyst in his later search for answers to the Maori cultural paradigm of childhood. Eight years of military service in the New Zealand Army were also defining yeras. The experiences in Malaysia and Vietnam further seeded his urge to find meaningful answers to the age-old questions. Answers that men have always sought, the meaning and purpose of life, and what happens at death etc.
The author's search began in earnest after leaving the Army in December 1973, first within the main Christain denominations, and thence to the lesser-known ones. Holding to the great directive, “Seek and ye shall find”, the author continued on, this time journeying to Western Australia, where he lived for six years. And there, after a deep and profound experience, the “door to recognition” finally opened. It is out of this recognition that these books have now come into being, in order to finally explain to humankind the answers to many questions of Spiritual Truth.
